Self Awareness: How Do You Know Me?

More than anything or anyone else, an average person believes that he or she knows himself and herself. We so much believe in our self-knowledge that many of us rely completely on whatever we know about ourselves. Scarcely can anyone tell us about ourselves beyond what we had known about ourselves. While all that is good, there is a little limitation to how much a man or woman may know about himself or herself per time.
In this short writing, I intend to share with you an experience a young man had some thousands of years ago (2,017 thereabout) with a young Teacher called Jesus Christ of Nazareth. The experience was so profound that it could become an eye-opener for us today.

....Philip found Nathanael and said to him, "We have found Him of whom Moses in the law, and also the Prophets, wrote - Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph."
And Nathanael said to him, "Can anything good come out of Nazareth?" Philip said to him, "Come and see."
Jesus saw Nathanael coming toward Him, and said to him, "Behold, an Israelite indeed, in whom is no deceit!"
Nathanael said to him, "Hod do You know me?" Jesus answered and said to him, "Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you.".........

John 1:43-51

Before you get too deep in thought over that portion of the Bible, let me quickly share another story with you. This one is a direct conversation between the man called Jeremiah and God:
Then the word of the LORD came to me saying:

"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations."......
Jeremiah 1:4-8

If you carefully consider those words very well, you will observe a link - you will discover how God has and had a foreknowledge of every man and every woman born or created on the earth. While many people could claim to know themselves, what they know is only a fraction of the entire knowledge available about them. Did you get that? All your present knowledge of yourself is only a PART (unit) of the WHOLE knowledge of the man or woman called you. See this:

Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed WHAT WE SHALL BE, but we know when He is revealed, WE SHALL BE LIKE HIM, for WE SHALL SEE HIM AS HE IS.
And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.

1 John 3:2-3

Did you see that? You are not yet all you can be! In fact, what your parents think about you (which is based on their past experience) of you, is only a minute portion of who you really are. You think you know yourself, but I must let you know that all you go around parading as self-knowledge is only a past-knowledge. You don't know your future, and your future is longer, bigger, better and brighter than your past. Why then do you doubt yourself because of your past experiences? Do you know that you have not yet being fully revealed to the world? Do you know that the devil doesn't have any idea of the man or woman you were created by God to become? Do you know that your purpose is only known to God, and know one (being, creature or spirit) else? Do you know that no spiritual power on earth can correctly predict your future?

I threfore submit to you this day that it is only God that knows you intimately. He knows you so much that He knows your past, present and future. He knows you to an extreme degree that nothing happens to you that catches Him on or by surprise. He knows you more than your parents can, and more than your spouse. He knows you so much, not because of anything other than the truth that He fabricated both your inner and outward selves. He designed you so uniquely and specially that only Him really understands you. I rest my case for now! Stay refreshed in God's sole knowledge of your life and destiny. I am Gboyega Adedeji. I do hope to connect with you again. If you have any question or comment, feel free to send it or them to my email address. Bye for now!
